This is a weird error.

Whilst trying to reinstall Windows 11, I'm getting this error: " This PC can’t run Windows 11 "

I'm already running Windows 11 on this PC but due to some mistakes during previous installation, I wish to format my PC and reinstall it, but I'm getting the above error.

I've created (today) a bootable USB Microsoft Windows installer. I tried running from both USB2 and USB3 port but I'm getting the same error on both.

System Specification
  1. CPU: AMD Ryzen 3200G
  2. Motherboard: Gigabyte A320 S2H V2 Rev. 2
  3. TPM: LPC based TPM
What could be the problem? Should I reset the BIOS or is there a problem with my USB drive?
Can anyone advise me what BIOS setting should I validate?

Use UEFI, TPM, disable Secure boot.

However, I have a brand new mini pc that won't let me install Win11 from scratch. No matter what BIOS settings.

The only way to install Win11 is to use the WinPE Recovery image download directly from the vendor - GMKTec.

thats more of a missing drivers thing rather than win11 requirement incompatibility
It should has nothing to do with requirement incompatibility, but I believe it also has nothing to do with drivers.

It just won't let you install, however. It can see the drive, then if you proceed, it either tells you it can't continue immediately or install half way and tell you it can't continue.

Sometimes it complained EFI partition

I even have same issue with my sister's 10gen HP laptop if I try to install Windows Server. Window10/11 is OK however.

bios settings to be windows 11 compatible:
Secure boot = enabled or disabled (your choice)
fTPM/dTPM = enabled (only one can be enabled, fTPM in 99% cases)
CSM compatibility mode = disabled
Turned out CSM compatibility mode was enabled.
Can someone advice me how this setting got enabled randomly.
I'd installed Windows 11 about 20 days ago and had not used my PC since then as I was out on work trip. Yesterday when I tried to use my PC after 20 days CSM compatibility mode was enabled.

What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard? Out of curiosity, how are you initiating the installer for the OS, off the OS GUI or selecting the platform to boot from the USB installer?
My BIOS version is FDb. I'll upgrade it to version FFa today.
  1. I press F12 to open Boot Options
  2. I select USB UFEI Option
  3. Windows Installer in GUI mode starts
  4. I select Windows 11 Pro
and then I get incompatibility error

it can switch if during POST bios detects somehardware which has issue initializing in UEFI mode, CSM fallback will than kick in, otherwise you would see just black screen
