Hello,

I have a laptop thats stuck in an infinite grey screen or automatic repairing screen. The laptop is a Samsung NP300E5C-A0AUS and was loaded with Windows 8.1. I've created a Windows 8.1 installation disk with Microsofts media creation tool in hopes of using it to repair or reinstall windows.

It brings me as far as to the "Press any Key to boot to CD/DVD" screen but pressing a key does not work. I've tried using another USB keyboard (no ps/2 slots) which has not helped.

Any suggestions?

Much appreciated.

Yes I have. Still asking to press any key.

Yes. Seems nothing boots on the laptop. Windows 7 dvd seems to get past the 'press any key' but it quickly freezes up with the Windows 7 logo.

I was trying to boot up with Hirens BOOTCD to see if the HDD is failing but the laptop does not recognize it.

Any other suggestions Emerald?

Yeah, no bueno. Did not work. Does the same endless start-up repair as it originally did.

Tested the bootable-USB on my main PC and it worked.

Picture of the laptops bios.

Another option would be to take out the HDD out of the laptop and plug it into another computer. Make sure to disconnect all other drive.

Install Win8 on it and shut the system down instead of letting it reboot.

put the drive back into the laptop and boot.
