This just started today, I did no changes to any settings in windows and did not install anything new. The microphone I have is a Blue ICE microphone. I tried lowering the level to 70% (5.4db) but it raises everytime I speak until it mutes. I tried raising the level to 100% (14.0db) and it mutes itself when I am talking still.
I have no possible conflicting apps running in the background except for an Anti-Virus but I doubt that is the culprit. The Operating System I am running is 8.1
Please help 🙁

The microphone is a plug in play microphone so it's not like I can update the drivers or anything like that.

found a micro worm in my system that caused the microphone from being unmuted. the worm attaches to a perfectly valid commercial add. when that add is displayed on your machine it goes to work slowly but surely invalidating windows. starts with you trying to fix a non-existant microphone trouble. every windows hardware driver or hardware process you access while you are trying to fix the microphone is degraded in some way.

you have to find a HIGH heuristic program to remove that micro malware. it hides in 4 basic registry files. doing its dirty work while you are trying to fix it.. it can go so far as to CRASH your hd via the MBR.
