I have an issue. I tried to change the path of my ssd in the registry.
ive changed it from C to D, as i would really like all my softwares to be installed on the D drive, since my ssd is working as a primary for windows. Now i can´t do anything. I cant open the cmd as administrator not even taskmanager. It makes sense, cause i get alot of error. windows tells me that the path or program does not exist Im stuck, and i really don´t wont to reinstall Win 10. Any ideas.

what i need to do is to get my registry fixed, manually, without opening it, cause i can´t.

All you had to do was choose D when installing programs and games and set your documents, etc folder to D which could have been done all without registry hacks.

Guess you could boot with linux on usb or something, mount your windows drive,

find the files, edit them, hope it all works.

Or reinstall and just choose D when you install a big program.

Do you have system restore points set up (under control panel>system>system protection)? If so, just roll back to your last restore point.

When you're back up and running: windows settings>system>storage will let you dictate where apps go by default:

Just use the drop-down to change it to the desired drive (which can be different for documents, pictures, etc).

As everybody else has pointed out, it is so easy to set the path for your downloads, music, documents, videos etc. You absolutely do not need to mess with your registry in the future, just use Windows file explorer to set the path.

Good luck with your registry.
