Hi.
Every now and then my windows grinds to a halt. Stuck on whatever is open at the time. I can move the mouse so I guess it is not a crash as such. When I force restart my pc a blue window pops up saying boot device not found. I can temporally solve this by changing the sata cables around and then changing order of boot in the bios. My os is on a samsung 840 evo ssd. And my mobo is a gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP. I ran disk check and there were no errors at the time of event strangely enough. I am guessing the ssd or mobo might be dieing. If anyone has any insight or ideas that would be great.

I have searched for this problem but either I am not searching correctly or something but I can not find much.

Solution
See if you have latest firmware on Evo by running samsung magician, use it to check smart scores as well
make sure you have latest motherboard chipset/sata drivers & maybe update bios

try running the free version of http://www.memtest86.com/ on your ram, 1 stick at a time. any errors means stick needs to be replaced.
