Windows keep tabbing/greying out

Basically if I'm playing a game or writing a document I suddenly tab out and have to click back into what I was doing, though the windows stays open. It doesn't happen when I play games full screen, but as afore mentioned, if I'm writing something in word or playing a game I suddenly lose control as if I clicked onto my desktop and left the game open in windowed.

Make sure no program is being a busy body in the background. Common perpetrators are anti-virus alerts, skype calls, etc.

I have Avast and Skype open but Skype is on do not disturb

Try keeping your task manager open to monitor if some program is popping up and closing, unexpectedly.
