I've been having this problem where if a program makes the slightest beep or ding noise, it drastically lowers the volume of my music for a few seconds. It doesn't matter if I'm playing it through Winamp or listening through YouTube, it will lower my volume. If I have a game playing and I make the slightest bump, Windows will go nuts trying to adjust volume levels. I've already tried the whole Sound options ---> Communications ---> Do nothing approach and it did zilch. I've already looked at Realtek options and all the volume adjustments are ticked off. I've already disabled all the enhancement options and that didn't work. My drivers are up to date and I really don't know what to do.
I've read that the motherboard could be something to do with it. It's an Asrock Z97 Pro3, if that's relevant.
Also, it's headphones plugged in the back. I have an audio jack extension cable and then i plug my headphones into that. I did the same thing with my previous computer (HP elite e9260f, Windows 7) and I never had any annoying auto-adjusting audio problems. I could blast Youtube and Winamp at the same time and none of them would be competing for audio levels, like they do in Windows 10.
Any help?
