I have a file that I am trying to transfer to my laptop via USB drive. Every time that I plug my USB drive into the laptop, the file shows up on the USB drive for 2 or 3 seconds and disappears. I seems like windows is deleting it as soon as it detects it. I have used this file on another laptop with Windows 7 and it transferred fine. Can anyone help?

EDIT: I have disabled my AVG anti-virus to rule that out as the culprit....

Hey there, dhock88!

It is possible that the issue comes from Windows 10 itself, since you are able to see and access that file on another laptop with Windows 7. I'd recommend you to try uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drive as a device from Device manager and see if that will help with the proper recognition on your laptop. If it doesn't, you should also try reinstalling the USB hub controller drivers from the laptop manufacturer's website, instead of Windows Updates.

Hope it helps. Good luck! :)

When did you try it on the laptop, before or after ? If only before, try again on the other machine. If it works fine, it's a configuration issue on your computer. If it doesn't work on the other one any more, your usb drive is probably broken/corrupted.

the little help...maybe it is helpful..
make new administrator user.
go to control panel , click on user accounts or accounts, click on add or remove account, click add account, select administrator, typer any in username username and create account.
then log off and log on in newly created account. and now plug your usb.
It is worked for me.
i hope it will work for you.
