Hi all,
My computer is facing some seriuos problems since I tried to perform a clean install of W7.
I have performed the clean installation and ever since the computer is freezing and displays about six or more different BSODs randomly. The most commoms are:0X0000007E; 0X00000007F; 0X000000050; 0X000000D1; 000000004E; 0X000000019; 0X00000001A and so forth.
However, to fix it, I tried to chk disc but no problem at all with the HD, memory test by removing and reseat slots, a memtest and nothing. Reinstall Windows but the problem persists. Performed a CMOS battery test by seating and reseating did not work, installed a CCleaner to perform a full cleaning and nothing. Have a look to windows update History and noticed that there are not any update instaled and I suspect this is the cause. However, whenever I try to install updates windows just freezes.
My computer is an Acer AspireX1700 running Windows 7 Home Premium X64 bits (sp1).
So, I need your help to tackle these problems. Every suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks

You have to pinpoint the problem and it sounds like its coming from the hardware. I used to get blue screens all the time when i installed drivers for my wireless card wmp54g for windows 7. Used to work fine in xp but for windows 7 i had to download RAlink drivers form the site and install it manually. Then the problem went away

So the only thing to try is install updates a few at a time and figure out whats causing it. Once you found the problem try to find updated drives from the vendor site.

Post your build

Is your boot drive nearly full?

Try staring up in safe mode (f8)

Run Checkdisk

Run a virus scan

Update the motherboard bios

Update all the drivers in Device Manager

Download and run Memtest86

Use a standard mouse. Remove old mouse software.

Hi, thanks for your help!
I have already starting up in safe mode several times but also freezes. As stated before I also run chekdisk. I cannot fully run a virus scan cos it freezes, but will try again. The other thing I want to do is a Bios update but I don't know how to do that. The current Bios is dated from 02/2009.(R01-B4) The same year I purchased the computer and worked with the Windows Vista. I want make some manual updates but the system refuses by freezing. Memory test has been done quite several times. Will also try change mouse software.
Many thanks, if you have more suggstions please I am open.

Hi, sorry for the delay. My computer is an Acer Aspire X1700 running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 bits.
You want me to list every components into the case one by one? I don't know most of them apart from memory sticks, HD and video card.!

Hi,
Ok, why do you suggest changing these parts? I need to be sure these parts are faulty to be replaced cos their are not cheap.! Thanks mate!!

Or choose not to. And we'll leave it at that.

Or work your way through this list -

Try your power supply in another pc and post the 12v, 5v and 3.3v readings

Try your graphics card in another pc. Try another card in your pc.

Run Memtest to check your ram.

Try your cpu in another pc.

Replace your hdd and reinstall Windows on it.

Repalce your motherboard

Ok mate, I'll try it out and as soon as I have a result I'll be back to you!
Thanks in advance cos I believe it ill work.
