Hey.
Today when i booted up my desktop, for some reason, it boots up strait to the bit where i put my password in. also my email address is showing, and not my name. the mouse pointer is also slightly different to.
when i put my password in, the windows loading animation, keeps going for about 30seconds to a minute. then it goes back to the clock, and doesnt give me a message of some sort. if i go to put my password in again, the same things happen.

even if i restart. the same exact process goes on. although some lucky boots have worked.
i can also boot into safe mode fine.

Thanks,
Matt

This is not account issue. Your computer likely installed update. This update causing many users have issues with Log In password. There used to be 2 screens, now it changed to only one screen and instead of changing wallpaper background, the test flies up but background wallpaper stays the same and password box appears. If this is what you experiences- you installed update and it freezes. The fix is on the way. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/windows-10-may-freeze-after-installing-the/5a60d75d-120a-4502-873c-8bfec65c82d0?page=1&auth=1

LOL, yeah sorry for that!
Are you prepared to redo your user? The next step i would take is to create a new local user and delete the one ou are using now.

What would that do, would i loose any files, or applications. if not send me a link to a webpage on how to do it

You would only lose teh files on the desktop + the ones in your personal folders(documents, pictures, downloads etc.). The latter ones may include games and settings.
The apps will saty put.
Doing this is self explainign if you go to settings > accounts.

That being said, you shoudl first try the fix suggested above by 13thmonkey.

im pretty sure i setup windows with my live/MS account. and that is what i have been using for ages

A WIn restore could work regardless. Well, if you have one that' not too old and you wouldn't be losing much.

i dont think i have a restore point, well one in the last 6 months. which i still dont know if its for this pc

i made a second local account. and the probelms still persisted. and took over 10 restarts to get back in. also the mouse pointer is wierd in the lock screen. it is the same as the one in the windows standard not the systerm default.

Seriously, bro? Not only are you trying to troubleshoot with an active overclock, but you also fail to mention that to the people trying to help you?
Just reinstall Win. At this point, it's the best path.

Do you have any other devices (tablet, phone) that syncs with you PC? If you do, I ran into a thread at Microsoft pertaining to the error code you got when trying to switch to local:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_perf/error-0x80004005-unable-to-switch-to-local-account/cbc34a59-d417-4817-a86c-cc281e55e2e6?auth=1

"...This error is because the Microsoft account was not synced properly. While signing in the MS account first time i was not able to generate the pin also.
So when i try to switch to Local account, the windows shows the Error code 0x80004005. But i fix this error.
Steps to fix it are:"

1) Go in Start==>Setting==>Accounts==>Sign-in Options==> Change Pin

In this step create the pin. Also change the password there.

2) Then open any browser and go to www.hotmail.com to Sign in your Microsoft Account and use the new password which you have changed .

3) After logging in the Microsoft account click on your Name==>Account settings.
4) On the next screen, Scroll down to Devices. There you see a symbol of PC below the word 'Devices' and see all in front of the word 'Devices'. Click on 'see all'.
5) There you see Your devices. Remove the device by clicking Remove PC and wait for 5 minutes to sync with your PC. Make sure that you are well connected to Internet so that the PC will sync properly.
6) After this you go to account in setting to switch back to Local account.
Hope so it will also work for you as it work for me also...."

The fact that you can boot into safe mode without problems leads me to believe that it has something to do with a driver, or possible software that runs at startup that is preventing access -probably something to do with Windows store and/or Windows Account.

Try and boot into safe mode with Network Access, and see if you can logon or not.
