Hi guys, I've just built a new desktop machine, and I've been running into random freezes. I've been working on this problem for over a week now, and I can't figure out the problem for the life of me.

Basically, the computer randomly freezes after starting up, and I am forced to reboot. The freezing can happen anywhere from immediately after booting up to hours later. There is no crashing in Safe Mode, as far as I can tell. Here's what I've tried so far:

* reinstalling the OS - I've tried Windows 7, 8.1, and 10
* memtest - No errors.
* chkdsk - No errors.
* msconfig bare boot
* switching out mobo
* switching out GPU
* prime95 CPU stress test - I ran this all night in Safe Mode, no crashing or problems
* updating drivers using SlimDriver
* checking temparatures - everything seems normal
* sfc /scannow - fixed some issues, but still had the same freezing behavior

Specs (all new):
CPU: AMD FX-9590 (not overclocked)
GPU: EVGA GTX 980
RAM: 4x8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 1600
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3
PSU: Corsair CX Series 750
Drives: 1x Samsung EVO 500GB, 2x Hitachi Ultrastar 2TB

Thanks in advance.

Voltages seem OK (within .5V of where they are suppose to be). I'm currently testing the machine with one stick of RAM in. I'll report findings soon.

Anything else I can use to test the RAM?

I ran the machine with all four sticks of RAM, one at a time. All of them froze after a while.

It would seem the RAM is ok then, very unlikely that all 4 modules would be faulty. Since you seem to have tested almost everything else you could try with a different PSU (if you have one available) and maybe try install the system on another harddrive (any that you can get your hands on that you know works) just to eliminate possible fault with the Samsung EVO.

I've ordered another PSU from Amazon, so I'll test that once it arrives. I've already tried installing the system on my other hard drives, no success.
