I have a big problem with the new Outlook 2023 app and I can't find anywhere how to solve it, I hope anyone here can help me.
I use an IMAP account and it's my main work account so I need to be notified for mails as soon as they arrive and I can just do that perfectly with the Windows mail app. It works perfectly, I have access to my mail folders, everything is just perfect... except that Microsoft is getting rid of the app so every time I open it Windows tries to force the new Outlook app on me, to the point that today it deleted my mail app and added the Outlook app.
My main problem with this is that I cannot for the love of all that's good activate notifications for incoming e-mails. The app is set as my default e-mail program, but according to Microsoft I have to go to System/Notifications and actions and just turn ON notifications for Outlook that is under "Get notifications from these senders". The problem is that Outlook is NOT there so I cannot turn notifications ON. The solution for Outlook not being there is going to "Control Panel" "Mail" and create a new profile... which again is a problem because if I go to Control Panel I have no "Mail" option there so I cannot create a new profile... soooooooo I reverted to Windows mail for now but I know that in the next restart it will force Outlook on me again.
For the record, I tried Thunderbird that was suggested as an alternative for Outlook and I did get notifications with it, but there the problem is that I can only access my InBox, and deleted items, I couldn't find how to access the rest of the folders (sent items, etc.). So, if anyone knows how to access my other folders on Tunderbird that also helps me. I need to get access to all my folders and I need to get notifications as soon as I get a new e-mail. That's all I need.
Thanks!
