Basically my problem is this, when i try to view "my computer" the normal way, as in view as webpage all i get is a blank screen. someone mentioned to me that it was probably the html file that was like desktop.ini from win98. Anyway does anyone know a way to restore the old one.
I know this is the problem or something related to it as when i choose view as old version (without the webpage option) it isnt a problem. the blank page is for all the files in my computer and yet explorer.exe views them correctly

And just to say that my computer of ME is fine on my machine, probably not worth paying for but it does have a few advantages over 98SE like stability.

Thanks in advance

A Life, where can i download one of those from?

try this to restore default settings:

double click on my computer
press <Alt> t (for tools)
press o (for options)
press r (to restore defaults)
press a (to apply)
hope you can see the screen now! if not, press enter.

This didnt work tragically, i had tried this before the post as i thought it would have solved it too.

in the end i reinstalled, i believe now as maybe the java in the webscripts was buggered as a site with java wasnt fully working

Anyway after the reinstall (which was remarkably quick and painless) it sorted itself out so now i have remembered to restore more often
