Windows Media Player wont burn CD properly anymore

Have been having an issue recently when burning files to an audio cd using Windows Media Player and mp3 files.

I create a burn list, insert the blank CD-R and hit burn. Everything seems to work fine, it progresses through to 100% and then ejects the CD.

When you put the cd in a stereo(car) it does not recognise the files.

In a computer, it recognises the files, but will not play with any sound, and the final file on the disc, runs for the whole remaining time of the disc. For example, the last file should have a running time of 3:21, but instead says 33:57.

Its like the last file is not ending, so the finalisation of the cd is not happening.

Any ideas??

Sounds like the CD/DVD Burner is the cause. It may need cleaning the burner's laser lens or replacing the device, but try using a different CD/DVD burner... that should determine if it's the CD burner or Windows Media Burner.

Make sure you have seleted Audio CD and not Data CD as default before you begin burn.
