Windows media sharing keeps turning off

Every time i restart or turn off the computer i need to re enable windows media sharing. I tried disabling windows media player by windows features and services.

Go into administrative tools>services and find windows media player sharing service, double click it and set it to automatic if it's set to anything else. That should solve the problem.

I tried that and it still turns off after a restart

Hi All,

None of these suggestions worked for me so I turned to an 'old culprit' called UAC (User Access Control).

As soon as I turned UAC off streaming remained on between reboots!

Of course there is a trade off in W8, and W10 in that Store Apps will not work with UAC off. In my case this wasn't too great a concern, because I am using traditional programs, however you may want to keep this trade off in mind.
