Windows Modules Installer Worker is slowing down my computer. According to task manager, it takes up anywhere from 30 to 60% of my disk and up to 20% of my CPU. What can I do to make this program less demanding? I have a Lenovo Think Pad laptop.
I may have fixed it myself. From the task manager I right clicked on the problematic program and hit "open file location." I then right clicked on the item that came up and opened its properties. One of the "Compatibility" tab in the properties menus had a compatibility troubleshooter that I ran with default settings, and now the CPU and Disk usage for Windows Modules Installer Worker is much lower. Not sure if it was a permanent fix, my computer is still slow but that is probably a separate issue.
