Not sure if anyone can answer this.

Have just re-installed Farcry after building a new rig:

P4 3ghz
MSI 865PE/Neo 2
165GB SATA
1GB PC3700
Radeon x800 XT
Watercooled

Now anytime I play an MP3 or wav etc I get an error code saying that the
file is missing codec 55???
No sound in Farcry as I would presume it can't play the Wav's in the game.

All other sounds are ok after testing with DX9b
All Drivers upto date, Patches etc.

The MB has AC97 chipset with 5.1 and have been to the Ubisoft site which
states that they have problems with this chip. Tried everything that they
have said but to no avail.
Uninstalled MP9 and re-installed also downloaded the codecs from MS.
All this has happend since Installing FarCry.
Uninstalled but problem still there.

Apart from getting a PCI sound card.
Anyone got a few idea's?

This is the actual error I am getting if it helps.

"The audio codec identified by the format tag 55 is required to play this
file. To determine if this codec is available to download from the Web."
