Question Windows not detecting my graphics card,but it can show image if i connect the monitor via the vga motherboard output.I have a gt 1030.

so i had to put inside my computer a hard drive for data recovery while it was still on and my display died.now windows isnt detecting my gpu,but runs of the motherboards vga output.

shorting the gpu by disconecting the cd rom cables and connecting it to the other hdd.?

the 1030 only get power from the motherboard, since the pc still work without the gpu, I would think yes.
Or you can try replace each components and see which one

no,the gpu is inside,the fan spins,but windows is detecting it as a display driver and outputs signal to the monitor only from the motherboards vga output port.
