Hi guys! I just woke up today and i have a problem. My main monitor isn't being recognized by windows. When i went to sleep yesterday everything was okay.

Here is screen from NVidia Control Panel (sorry for Polish version). And the parth where it says Ancor Communications Inc MG248 you've got that little box to check but it can't be selected. It just turns blue and that's it. As well in display settings in windows i can see 2 monitors, but can't change display mode from "Display on second" to at least "Display on first" or something like that. But when I try to change these setting main monitor pops out for a second with standard "Display Port - no signal"
Just in case:
-First monitor Samsung SMB2230N (this one works as second display)
-Second monitor AsusMG248q (this is my main monitor which now stays only black)

Solution

Hi, I'm having the same exact issue.

Main monitor: ASUS VG248qe (DisplayPort)
2nd monitor: an old 1080p led viewsonic (HMDI)

I turned my computer on today and kept getting displayport: no signal despite re-plugging multiple times.
If I unplug my HDMI 2nd monitor the ASUS works fine through displayport but is showing as a generic PnP monitor and reading ancor communications.

I updated my gfx driver (Nvidia GTX 950 FTW) and did a windows update but that hasn't helped at all. I also tried using the other displayport input on my graphics card but still no luck.

Would also love any help for this!

Update: After updating drivers for GPU and re-downloading them for the monitor I found a fix. Plug both monitors in after updating both drivers and you should be able to select ancor communications and your samsung monitor.

Works fine now!
