Windows not loading

Hi Guys

My laptop updated and not worked properly since.
Windows doesn't load, but laptop Toshiba satellite working fine. Tried all the usual such as refresh, but says unable to refresh due to an open file. It suggests the file maybe anti virus and to close it, but I can't as the screen is black after login. Help!!
I'm guessing the hard drive is not working and not repairable? Any advice?!

go to safe mode and then do this start control panel,
select, hardware and sound-> power options,->system settings
disable "turn on fast startup(recommended)" checkbox
