I just replaced the motherboard on a HP pavilion p2-1122 desktop pc. After I set the time and date, the computer says that my copy of windows is invalid. how do I fix this?

Solution
For a new motherboard, you should generally reinstall the OS
This will require activation again

If you don't reinstall the OS, it will require activation again.

Whether this activation is successful depends on what OS license you have, OEM or Retail.
Which do you have?

As USAFRet said you need to reinstall windows. If it fails (which it might, as OEM windows the key is tied to the motherboard) you might have to phone up Microsoft and explain your situation and hopefully they will reactivate it for you if it is a like for like replacement following a hardware failure.

side note on if you have to call. It's automated but sometimes a person will pickup. Either way be sure to emphasis you are repairing your computer not building a new one. They'll usually allow a repair job through no problem regardless of what type of key you have. But if they think you're building a new computer they can deny activation, especially if the key is from some prebuilt OEM computer.
