I already have windows 7 on my hdd but I lost the product key so I bought windows 7 oem and a new ssd. If I do a new install of windows 7 on the ssd and use the ssd as the boot drive would the windows 7 with no product key on the hdd cause probelms on my Pc? Thanks for the help

Nope -- It shouldn't -- best thing to do though just in case would be to remove the HDD and setup the machine with just the SSD (win7 likes to add the 100mb hidden boot and recovery file partition on any drive with the free unassigned space so if you have the HDD installed in the system it will sometimes install it to that instead of the SSD) NOTE : to avoid win7 setting up the 100mb partition if you want be sure to partition the SSD before installing.

Then after getting it setup install the HDD as a secondary storage drive so that it does not place the old WIN7 as a bootable drive. (might consider deleting the old files to recover the space if you are never going to use it !)

+1 -- didn't think about that but he is correct if the OS is still installed the magic jelly bean will tell you what it is so you may not need the new copy !!
