Windows old OS copys

I have upgraded windows 7 to 8(with and upgrade lisence). can i use the old OEM windows 7 licence on my old laptop?

OEM licenses are tied to the original machine(motherboard), so you couldn't(legally) use it on another machine - regardless if you upgraded or not..

Yes you can. I transferred my Windows 7 OEM from a dead Laptop to my new build. If microsoft don't except your product key, just telephone them and they'll activate it. I've never failed with a OEM transfer yet. Good Luck.

If you contact microsoft, they may allow it. I've done this a few times and they were really helpful.
