I've been a mac user for the past 5 years but I recently went ahead and bought a Sager NP9752. I'm going to be back in school taking programming courses that require a Windows OS.

I've had the Sager with Windows 10 for 2 days so far and I've been having a lot of problems:
- I hate the trackpad, just like I do on all PC's. The trackpad actually stops working periodically for about 8 seconds then resumes working. The 2 finger scrolling also stops working periodically and then won't start working again until I restart the computer, however, sometimes restarting the computer doesn't fix it. I tried updating the synaptic driver and there's no improvement.
- For some reason a lot of updates won't install (in settings). I keep getting error codes.
- Sager's Control Center crashes every time I open it.

The last time I had a PC was about 7 or 8 years ago when I was running Windows XP. Buying this Sager NP9752 reminds me of the exact same buggy experience I had back then. Perhaps my Sager is defective or it's just buggy because Windows 10 is a newer OS. I'm actually considering returning this PC and just buying the latest and greatest Macbook Pro and running Windows on Boot Camp. This way, I won't wont have to deal with a bad trackpad and I'll get to enjoy the Mac OS whenever I don't have to use Windows.

Does anyone have any experience running Windows on a Mac via Boot Camp? How does it compare to actually running windows on a PC?

Hi,
It is really up to you and what Mac you are running. Windows will work okay on boot camp for just word editing or things like that. But I would not recommend Video editing and things like that on Windows with Bootcamp.
I personally, if doing proggraming courses only, would get a Mac and install Windows 8.1 via Bootcamp. And then when Windows 10 has been around for a couple of months, upgrade when most of the bugs have been ironed out.
Hope this helps

Considering the fact that a Mac is a PC by extension of the fact that it uses an x86 processor, I'd say it's certainly possible to run Windows on a Mac without trouble. Windows 7/8/8.1/10 will run just fine, but I agree with 7malligk to not install Windows 10 until it's fully stable. The only thing BootCamp does is make the process easier by removing user input from the installation process, which is done by making a lot of assumptions for you. You can just as easily install Windows 10 without BootCamp, though at the cost of clicking on a few more buttons.

if you have no particular reason why you should stick with mac I would suggest you to buy a reasonably priced windows laptop. Unless you are learning MAC based programming languages it's useless. Besides, if you really need mac you can install it on a virtual machine on your Windows Laptop.

No Windows machine should run this bad out of the box, I suggest immediately return and buy something else.

The other thing I personally suggest is, (sounds like this is your only computer) never run version 1.0 of anything, and of course am talking about W10, do you have time dealing a new version's bugs? Whatever you buy, get it with W7 or W8 and you have a year to upgrade to W10 later, and am sure 10.1, for free.

I have no reason why a Mac+Bootcamp wouldn't work, it's matter of your wallet.
