Hello!!

First time upgrading my RIG here.
I'm switching from intel to ryzen, i got Windows 10.
I've run through how to install the cpu, mobo and RAM and i know i can do it.

But my question is:
after installing the hardwares, will windows boot up even if i didnt' reinstall windows?
If windows do boot up with the new hardwares, do i need to reinstall windows?

There's an option for WIndows to reset OS with "Keep my files" or "remove everything".
Can i use these options?

Thank you for any help and suggestions.

Asked here daily.

3 possible outcomes:
  1. It works just fine
  2. It fails completely
  3. It "works", but you're chasing issues for weeks months.
Going from older Intel to new Ryzen?
Reduce the brainache, and do a fresh OS install in the new system.

Also, consider the Windows license/activation.
For the OS activation, read and do this before you change any parts:
