Windows password problem

I buy storage buildings and this week we got a office supply. There is a lenovo ThinkPad e531. Turns on ..goes directly to windows asking for password, gives a hint as well. But when i try to change it...it says no drive, this feature requires removable media,..ask to put usb or floppy disk in and try again. I got a usb..put in and didnt work. Please help
