"It must have been difficult to write this Article without mentioning OS X Lion, which introduced the Mission Control feature in 2011, and is arguably the best Virtual Desktop implementation ever created. And before that Apple has Expose and Spaces that did largely the same thing as far back as Leopard in 2009.
Microsoft's implementation appears to be inspired by it (which is a good thing) but... what the hell took so long? And in that same time Apple made iPhones, and iPads, hot new MacBooks, etc... It's not like Apple did nothing else. "
No, id say it wasnt inspired by apple, it was inspired by unix/linux/other nixes which have had multi desktop spaces for 20-30 years, maybe more.
