Hi everyone!

I recently bought a Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2133MHz C13 Memory Kit for my PC. For some reason does windows 10 recognise only one 8 GB stick, but BIOS and CPU-Z say that I have 16 GB RAM. Any help is much appreciated.

There seems to be some problem with the channel configuration:

CPU-Z say that I’m using single channel:

But my BIOS says it’s using dual channel.

Both RAM sticks work fine in DIMM 1 but for some reason they don’t work in DIMM 3 (I have only two RAM slots).

Additional information:
I can’t change RAM settings in BIOS. Not the voltage nor the XMP settings.
I have reset my bios to factory defaults.
I have the latest BIOS.
I have checked that msconfig didn't have my RAM limited

Thanks to everyone in advance.

A very new platform so might still be just a bios issue.Or the ram not being compatibel (yet).

I looked at the last task manager picture and it says ;" slots used: 2 of 2 ", so both sticks are recognized, but only half the ram is recognized from each stick.Maybe a dual sided vs single sided ram issue.

Can you try with other ram? Maybe from a friend or a local store.

What the slot concerns is it maybe necessary to install at least one stck in the first slot to make things work on the motherboard you have.

It doesn't seem that it recognises only half of both ram, because it recognises both sticks fully if they are placed in slot 1, but if i place them in slot 2 then my PC won't start.

I used my old 8GB RAM stick, it worked fine in both slots.

Slot 2 doesn't fully recognise my new RAM for some reason.

I also did a CMOS reset by moving the jumper, also no effect

Ok, I don't know what happend, but windows started recognising all of my new 16 GB RAM. I have no clue to why.

It started working properly after I tried running my old 8 GB Samsung stick in the faulty DIMM3 slot and the new Corsair in DIMM1 (it showed that I had a total of 16 GB RAM, I already knew that the old Samsung RAM worked fine both slots). I pulled out the new Corsair stick and called it a night. The following morning I pulled out the old RAM stick and placed both of the new Corsair RAM sticks in their slots and suddenly did windows 10 recognise all 16GB of new Corsair RAM.

For any people who have the same problem: I also took out both of my new RAM sticks and put them randomly back in their slots for like the 20 times over the course of a week.

Conclusion: I don't what helped, but the problem solved itself magically.
