My System specs:
Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
Nvidia GeForce GTX 770
AMD FX-8350 8-core processor
2x8GB Ripjaws DDR3-1600
2x4GB Ripjaws DDR3-1600
Windows 7 Professional x64
I have updated the Bios to the newest version. All the DIMM slots have been cleaned with compressed air. There is no ram cap in msconfig. Both ubuntu and windows recognize only 8GB. I have reset cmos using the jumper and by removing the battery.
I took out all of the ram and only inserted the 8gb stick in each slot. On each slot there was only 4GB recognized. This happens with both sticks of 8GB. When both 8GB sticks are inserted, staggered, it recognizes 8GB.
After testing, one of the 4GB sticks doesn't work on A1 or A2 and I presume that it is broken from only those two. The other 4GB stick shows as 4GB in bios. As a result I will try to just get the 2 8GB sticks working in dual mode.
Sometimes I get a screen before bios that says overclocking failed! However I did not set any overclocking.
Please let me know if you more information is needed to solve this problem. Thank you for reading.
UPDATE: Contacted Asus and they said this Ram is not compatible with the motherboard? I used pcpartpicker as a compatibility checker. This is what they said "That chipset and architecture does not allows for the correct timing sequencing between RAM addresses for this RAM. " Can anyone confirm this? Thank you.
