Windows recognizes my USB game controller but it does not work

Hello, i am trying to get a USB game controller to work on my laptop so i can enjoy a game with someone else in local co-op mode, but it doesn't want to work, i see that windows 10 picks up the device. but whenever i want to calibrate it, it doesn't respond to any inputs. i have an acer Aspire E 15 Touch (E5571PG-57DD) with windows 10. and the game controller is a "Rippa" i cant use the CD for its drivers anymore since its badly damaged and my CD-ROM has trouble reading its contents. any suggestions?
