Hi,

I was searching a file on my pc, and my windows search bar suddenly turned white, while on dark mode. When I click on the search icon, the "Start screen" with the "top apps" is in dark mode, but the moment i search something, the results become white. I of course have both "default app mode" and "Default Windows Mode" on dark.
I have tried everything I could find. Please help!

Solution
have you tried changing them to defaults and back again? it could be a glitch

see if this helps
right click start button
choose powershell (admin)
copy/paste this command into window:
Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth and press enter
Then type SFC /scannow and press enter

First command repairs the files SFC uses to clean files, and SFC fixes system files
SFC = System File Checker. First command runs DISM - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/what-is-dism?view=windows-11

updating GPU drivers could help too.

tried scanning for malware?

its not a random accessibility setting that turned on? I don't know which one it would be though.
I do see one person who had similar 3 years ago but ms answer was to use custom settings. Doesn't work really.
found another person who had problem but their solution was to upgrade to windows 11.
seems some people use this instead of search - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/run

all really work arounds. No real solution

could try making a new local user and see if it has same issues - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...-windows-20de74e0-ac7f-3502-a866-32915af2a34d
it might be your user that is causing it.

Thank you for replying.
I tried using a local user, same problem.
My pc also doesn't support windows 11. So thats a no go.

I think ill try that powertoys run utility. thank you for your help.
