I have a complicated issue, but lets start from basics. Is it normal that when i plug in my headphones to computer (i tried several different headphones) they are detected in device manager as microphone?

I have 3 jacks in my laptop, 2 for headphones and 1 for microphone, im plugging in my headphones to headphone jacks (tried both of them).

I believe that this may cause that when i plug in my headphones i can hear sound both in headphones and laptop speakers.

I have windows 8.1 PRO and currently im working on default windows sound drivers.

Thank you very much for help

Hello... Headphones and Microphones are a Passive device and will not have a chip in them to tell Windows what they are... So check your MB Hardware Audio Device APP, In the Control Panel, and see if your Inputs have been "re-tasked" as telling Windows what ever is plugged in here is a "Microphone"
re-set that APP to default settings, to get your Original inputs Types/Names back.
