I have a small network consisting of 2 servers S1, S2, which of S2 is the DHCP server with scopes and with Acitive directory domain while S1 is the DHCP relay. There are two hosts, H1 and H2, H1 being connected to S1 and H2 to S2. S1 has two subnets, 192.168.100.1 which H1 is connected to and 192.168.200.2 which is connected to S2 which has ip address of 192.168.200.1.

The S1 DHCP relay is supposed recieve ip addressed from S2 and assign it to H1 but from H1 I am not able to ping the 100.1 side of S1, only getting a message of "PING: transmit failed. General Failure." and I cant connect to the relay, the relay keeps discarding the requests.

I don't know how to fix the issue of not being able to connect to S1 with my host. Please help thank you .

Yes, I set up RRAS to use the 100.1 network side and to relay all messages to my dhcp server , S2 which is 192.168.200.1 and I can see requests being sent to the relay agent from H1 when I release and renew but most of them get discarded and some time out
