Hello, I have a Windows server (2012 Vps) And was wondering if i could mount its storage to my windows 8 pc (like a network drive or something)

I know this is most likely a stupid question but it would make it alot easier when i want to just quickly edit some files without connecting to the Vps.

Thanks but i was sort of asking how to do it

1. Create an user on the server with same user name and password you log in to your desktop.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732336.aspx
2. Share a folder on the server, give that folder full permissions to the user you've created.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc770880.aspx
3,. On your desktop, go to Network, locate the server, and map the share to a drive. You're done

You will get nothing with BitTorrent - even if you install it on both places, you will end up with copy of the files on both your server and your desktop.

Thanks for the info but i think you misunderstood when i said Bit-Torrent sync. it is a tool that works alot like dropbox but there is no server so the devices download and upload files from each other i quite like it and i have actually replaced google drive with it. (oh and the files update in realtime just like dropbox)

Heres a link if you want to check it out:http://www.getsync.com/

@Braydan - I know how DropBox, BitTirrent etc work. This is not what the OP asked for.
Image you have a laptop with 60gb hard drive, and you have your server with 1TB drive. If you want to watch a movie directly off the server - nothing gets copied to your laptop, you just watch it. With sync solutions, you have to copy it to your laptop before watching.

Yeah I know that you have to have a local copy before editing I don't mind I actually like having a local copy (I have 2.5tb of storage )

Also I'm the one who asked the question xD
