I successfully cloned a primary HDD onto an SSD. Everything is working trouble free now booting from the SSD but are there any windows settings I need to alter that might be forcing the SSD to perform like the cloned HDD?

Solution
There's no specific Windows setting that'll make the SSD perform like an HDD, but remember, when you clone you're cloning the good, the bad & the ugly.

Remnants of old programs, registry edits/errors etc all migrate over.

While a clone can certainly 'work', I'd highly suggest a clean OS install to truly see the full benefit of your SSD.
