Windows shows it has an internet connection, but won't load anything.

So in a recent computer build I did for my father, I was using a USB dongle for wireless connection until we could get a wireless card. The wireless card in question is a Rosewill RNX-N250PCe.

After installing the drivers and card, it came up with all the wifi connections of the area, including ours. It says it connects fine, but when we actually try to load anything it loses connection, then "connects" again once the computer gives up trying to load that particular thing.

The device is out in our garage, which is literally the farthest away it could be from the router without leaving the house. That being said, it isn't more than about 75 feet (23 meters). The computer shows 4/5 connection bars, and previously while using an old USB wifi dongle it would connect fine with 2/5 bars.

I tried just about everything I could with drivers for the card, but I have not tried a firmware update on the router (although I recall updating it within the last year or so, and I doubt there'd be a new one).
