So, i recently just upgraded my old computer to windows 10 and now i am having some problems, sometimes it works perfectly without a hitch, but in some instances, there are times that when i start the computer, it for some reason cannot click on things such as apps on the taskbar, or apps in the windows start menu or the settings and etc (in the same line with the settings menu) buttons in windows start menu. I need to restart my computer directly using the physical buttons because i cant open the shutdown menu. However after restarting everything went back to normal but it would happen again in another time when i start my computer again, and i would need to restart my computer again, can anyone help?

Solution
Update your post to include full system hardware specs and Windows 10 Edition/version.

Look in Reliability History for error codes and warnings that correspond to the click failures. May be a clue therein....

Old computer: loose component or connection perhaps. Works when system is cool but some expansion then creates a disconnect.

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Clean out dust and debris.

Reseat all cards, cables, RAM, and jumpers. Ensure that all are fully in firmly in place.

Has the CMOS battery ever been replaced?

And if "clicking" is problematic what mouse are you using: wireless? May need new batteries.
