Hi all;

I replaced my e8400 on my windows 10 64 machine. I booted it up and went to task manager / device manager and the CPU is still reading e8400.
I booted up CPU-Z and it is reading that I have an q9650 installed. Is there extra steps I need to take with windows?

Thanks for the quick reply. I ended up going into device manager and it only read it as a 2 core cpu. I did a driver uninstall and restart in device manager. It fixed it!
If it's working right, I'd say if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'd open task manager and look at the CPU display to be sure it's showing the right no. of threads. If that's right and there are no apparent problems, I'd sure leave that sucker as is.

Good luck.
