So, I have an HP Probook running Windows 10(latest updates). The problem I'm facing is when I click shut down/hibernate/sleep, the PC doesn't always follow the command. What happens is after clicking shut down/hibernate/sleep the screen goes dark, as it should, but the PC doesn't shut down/hibernate/sleep. The screen remains dark but the SSD & HDD stop working(the indicator light stops), the keyboard stops responding or taking any input and the power button doesn't work and the laptop keeps running until the battery runs out. I have to hard reset it every time. It completely stops responding. This doesn't happen every time but happens mostly.

What all I have tried:
*Reinstalling Windows 10(Pro & Home edition)
*Switching from HDD to M.2 SSD
*Refreshing Windows
*Swapping RAM sticks
*Disabling sleep modes in BIOS

I am dual booting my system and this problem doesn't occur in Ubuntu. Only in Windows.
One thing that I have noticed is that when I boot in safe mode this problem doesn't occur. It only shows up during normal boot. I have installed all the recommended drivers using the HP Assistant. I have also tried installing them manually, still no difference.

I have another i5-7200U and there is no problem with that one. I am pretty sure this is a driver related issue as it doesn't occur in normal boot. Also, HP recently released an Audio device driver update stating: "Fixes an intermittent issue which causes the system to stop functioning (hang)." Applied the update still the same issue persists.
I have the latest BIOS installed(May 05 2019).

Specs:
i5-7200U
2x4GB LPDDR4 RAM
240GB M.2 SATA III SSD(Windows and Ubuntu Installed)
500GB WD Black HDD

Please provide me with a solution to fix this.
Thanks

Try this as a fix.

This will solve your problem ...............
The fault is the sleep option fails and crashes your computer. You computer's power-key [in the start menu] needs a popup menu with ' Hibernate' 'Shut Down' and 'Restart'.
  1. Click starts > settings > system
  2. Left side menu click > Power and Sleep.
  3. Scroll down click > Additional Power Settings.
  4. Left menu. For each of these Click > 'Choose what the power buttons do' and Click > 'Choose what closing the lid does'. Make these changes [battery and plugged in]:
When I press the power button ~ Hibernate.
When I press the sleep button ~ Turn Off the Display.
When I close the Lid ~ Sleep.
Now return to 3 above > Additional Power Settings and continue:
  1. Look for 'Plan shown on the battery metre' and a highlighted circle. Yours could be 'Automatic balances or balances[recommended]. If your computer is highlighted [example DELL] use that option.
  2. Adjacent your choice click 'Change Plan Setting'
7 On next screen click 'Change advanced power settings'
  1. A new menu appears. Move down and click > Power Button & Lid
  2. Go down the menu and make these changes [battery and plugged in];
Lid close .... change to 'Sleep' for both options.
Power Button ... change to 'Hibernate' for both options
Sleep Button ... change to 'Turn Off the display'.
Dont forget to OK before closing the process.

Power option key 'sleep' has now been removed and Hibernate installed.

Your computer should no longer crash to a black screen.

Use Hibernate, Shut Down or Restart.
