Hi,

I have a problem where windows is taking up 80GB. This is really annoyingas it also get bigger every time I look at it. I have a 120GB SSD and 4GB of ram. I have 10GB left of space when I check the computer thing and when I look at it every hour or so it gets smaller. Originally windows took 30GB or so and not 80GB.

Please help,
Thank.

This is why you should also buy and separate Hard Drive for your programs & software i.e game etc the ssd with small space i'e 120 gb are really for starting up windows and performing tasks in windows which as you have noticed is extremely FAST

I do have a 500gb hard drive for all my games and programes etc. I am saying that the windows folder on its own is taking 80gb where it should be no more than 30gb.

Oh sorry ok did not read properly see if you have any files saying windows old, if that is not the case see how much system reserve you are using also if you have done a full backup that will use space aswell

yeah when installing windows you can delete that oops sorry not reading properly again no thats fine if it;s only 100mb
see if you have done backups and then go through you SSD drive to find where all the data is being used

No the drive is not partitioned, I left it as it is when I was installing windows. When I scanned the whole C partition which is the whole drive with windirstat or tuneup it said that 80gb is is the Windows folder. When I check it myself it says 25gb so it must be all hidden data.

yeah right, hmm change your folder settings to show hidden folders see what's there

ok when I scanned the drive with windirstat the biggest folders in the windows folder where as follows, Temp with 40GB, winsxs with 14.6GB and Logs with 8.7GB.
