Windows Task Manager - Items Disappearing and Reappearing

In Windows 7 Task Manager, items in every tab that displays something running (Processes, Services, etc.) all the items are disappearing and reappearing. It is nearly impossible to select one and end it.
Could this be a virus? I am running a Norton reputation scan to scan processes and a virus and spyware scan.
How should I solve this?

Are you sure things are actually disappearing? If you've got the entries sorted by something that changes rapidly (like, say, CPU usage) things are going to tend to jump around in the list every time the list refreshes (default is every second) making it frustratingly difficult to select individual processes.

If you sort by process name, this is not an issue.

Okay, I finished the Malwarebytes full scan, and deleted 14 viruses.
Everything is fine, and I do not receive an error when booting up.

And willard, yes things were disappearing, as if the virus did not want me to terminate it. The scroll bar on the side kept going up and down, and things were...mixed up. I can't really describe it, but everything is solved!
