I've just recently had the problem of my pc shutting itself down overnight or when it is left without use throughout the day. When I come back to it I have to hit the power button and then windows gives me the message that it had to shut down unexpectedly. I checked all the power settings and everything is set to never turn off. I recently updated to SP1 and was wondering if this could have anything to do with it since it seems that the problem started around the time of the update. Any suggestions would be great.

System specs if you need them:

Windows 7 64 bit SP1
955 BE @ 3.6 which runs really cool so I assume overheating isn't the problem
GA-890GPA-UD3H
4 GB G.skill ram
5770

If this is a recent development because of a windows update, esp a service pack I would do two things.
First I would check to make sure my drivers are all up to date. Sometimes an update can contain some incompatibilities with older drivers.

Then I would also check my settings, a service pack is almost like a brand new operating system and I have experienced some settings changes from this sort of update. In particular I would check power savings options and screen saver settings.

Also just to be certain, I'd run some temp monitoring software. Also check your BIOS to see if something may be amiss there, it never hurts to check.
