[SOLVED] Windows Update Confusion

Hi there,
When I was trying to update my Windows, I saw that it was downloading Apple and Samsung USB Driver, But I dont have any Samsung Device but I have IPhone 11 Pro Max which I never connected to my PC.

Should I proceed with this update?

I know Win 10 will install printer drivers if it sees one on the network, I am not sure about phones. It seems unlikely.

I don't think Samsung uses Kies anymore, they moved more to Smart switch which can be USB but also supports WIFI - I used it last week to move files from an S7 to an S10.

No. Even not any Samsung device till now in my home. But planning to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra after it launches In my country.

try the link, I sm not sure how you stop windows installing drivers for devices you don't own. Its often the opposite problem (it won't install drivers for items you do have) so its strange it chose those.

S20 likely uses Smart switch, and if you moving data from 1 phone to another, you don't even use a PC, you just attach the USB cable to both phones (unless you have an S7 which has wrong usb connection - I had to use wifi but there was still no PC involved)

yes, I have installed a program named DroidCam which help to use Android Phone's camera as webcam for PC. I have purchased a new webcam but it will arrive after few days. But I have to do a important video call , so i used this software.
(MY ANDROID PHONE IS ONEPLUS 7T PRO). As told above,NO SAMSUNG PHONE I HAVE TILL NOW.

I don't think that would require a USB driver even if I would have a Samsung Phone as the whole process is wireless.

No need to yell, just trying to figure out why your PC is loading the drivers.

I don't see any harm in installing them since you don't have the devices anyway, they can't run.

Did you attach Droidcam via USB? If not, then its unlikely to be cause. its instructions for attaching via USB mention you need to install some drivers - https://www.dev47apps.com/droidcam/connect/

It should install driver but it should install drivers from OnePlus not from Samsung or Apple.
I have already installed OnePlus and ADB drivers as I regularly need to get kernel log files for Android ROMs Testing and bugs fixing.
So no need install any additional drivers. But in order to update or install further Windows Updates I need to install the unwanted drivers.

something is telling windows you have those devices. Look in device manager and under view, get it show hidden devices. See if either show up in here now.

Thank you. Now I am able to stop installing drivers form Windows Update.
