Windows update doen not work anymore...

Hi,

When I try to run Windows update on my machine, I get error 80070424 and a message that Windows Update is unable to run.

I have Vista 64 on a 3-4 year old Intel E6600 machine with Asus K8V Deluxe motherboard, 4 GBs of RAM, etc.

Any ideas? I believe this problem has been around since 2010, but I havn't bothered until now.
