I just installed Windows 7 to my new build. I'm getting this error the "WindowsUpdate_800B0100" error.

I've tried several solutions from trying the Windows Update Troubleshooter and downloading the hotfix, KB956702, but to no avail. Does anyone else have ideas?

Windows Media Center is included only with Windows Vista Home Premium and with Windows Vista Ultimate. However, the "Applies to" section of this article lists all versions of Windows Vista. This is because this security update is for a DirectShow component that is used by Windows Media Center but that is included in all versions of Windows Vista

Yeah, it's the Microsoft Fix it. I think I've tried the link you mentioned as well. Something about downloading a file with .msi extension? If not, I'll try it when I get home later.

don't know I just installed 2 windows 7 64 sp1 and had no issues at all one thing I do though is before I put them on line I change the update settings to find new updates but let me choose to download and install them so I can weed out the ones that are not needed or go to there support page and read what it does and decide if I really want it or not

That fix doesn't work. I'm getting a message saying that "The update is not applicable to your computer".

I forgot to mention I'm also getting the Code 80070570 error as well.

The specific updates I need to make include;
Security update for Win 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2579686)
Security update for Win 7 for x64-based Systems (kb3011780)
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based systems (kb2773072)

I tried downloading the updates for the above but I got the same message as above; "The update is not applicable to your computer". Well, couldn't find the update for the 2nd one. Only 1 and 3.
