Windows Update Error 800F0831

Hello

I have been through numerous threads trying to update windows. I have tried the following multiple times and still no avail. I am close to re-installing windows but really want to avoid it.
1. Tried the windows updater tool numerous times. It keeps saying that it fixes the error then when I try to run the update again, I continue to get the same error.
2. In the command prompt:
--> sfc /scannow
--> DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
--> DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

I did the above a second time and it came back error free. I tried combinations of the above plus restarts to no avail. I tried installing the manually and also nothing. I am lost of what to try next and am hoping someone can help me out

go to disk clean up, then hit clean up system files. be sure to check windows updates to remove the corrupted update download. then search for updates and let it reinstall.

So I tried the above suggestion and I got a new error 80246010. I hit the try again button and the the update failed again with the 800F0831 error again. I am still at a loss...

try using the microsoft update tool, download iso and run the upgrade, be sure to select save data and apps.
