Question Windows Update Error ?

I'm trying to check for Windows updates and am getting the following error code: 0x80245006. Google search gives me some ideas on how to fix but nothing seems to be working.

Even ran sfc /scannow and it said it found and fixed some corrupt files.

Some of the fixes SFC performs need a restart to actually work.

The error code 0x80245006 indicates that there is a problem with the connection to the Windows Update server. This error can occur if the proxy server is not configured correctly or if there is a problem with the proxy server itself.

You can reset the Proxy server to default by:

1. Open command prompt (admin)
2. type netsh winhttp reset proxy and press enter
3. restart PC

Ran that in an elevated command prompt and got a message that said : "Current WinHTTP proxy settings:

Direct access (no proxy server)

that is the expected result for the command. I should have mentioned it.

I am receiving the same error code for windows updates. I am not using a proxy, ran the command, restarted, but no luck... any suggestions?

Same here! This error just started showing randomly for me today. I didn't change anything. Maybe it's a server-side problem then

Seems like it, I posted on another forum and a few others reported the same issue. Glad to hear it's not just me, but hoping for a quick fix!

Getting the same error as of yesterday June 17th. I am not connected to a proxy either. Home wifi. Gonna see if Windows rolls out an update today. I am SO glad I am not alone.
