Hello. This is sort of a update on this problem. I have learned from reading this problem on here but I have reached a sort of limbo point in the problem.
So it all started with a fresh install of Windows 7 two weeks ago. Nothing out of the ordinary. I acually ran into a weird issue getting Microsoft net framework 4 to install. (This was 2 weeks ago) but I got it to finally install. One of the fixes was disabling Windows auto update. Now (fast forward to today) St Patrick's day. I realized I had forgot to turn Windows update on. I turned it back on and shut off my PC. Windows had to install 252 updates. Lol. But when. I powered back on I was Stuck at. Windows has failed go configure reverting" forever! I was not able to get into Windows in anyway past this screen. Restarting safe modes. Ect. Finally I just had to reinstall windows from booting from my win7 disk.
So now here we are. I have Windows update disabled because I am terrified go try it again in fear of running into the same problem. Everything else is fine. Motherboard drivers GPU drivers all up to date. Do I even need any Windows 7 updates??lol? Can I just leave it disabled for ever. Need some help moving forward.
I also had no restore points and the repair tool did absolutely nothing. So bottom line is. Had the problem. Reinstalled windows. To scared to try updating again. I suppose I could do them one at a time? Find the bad one? But that still would mean up to 251 restarts plus then having to reinstall windows7 again. Sorry for long post. Thanks.
P.S I currently have on check for updates but don't install although I don't seem to see any que of a list of updates yet? Idk. Halp!

I Have had the same problem with a number of pc's...I just dumped windows update and used this tool!It worked just fine on every system i used...it downloads updates for the operating system you choose from the official microsoft servers and gathers them into a folder...The only thing u have to do is run the exe and let it do its work!

Theres a tutorial on how to use it...its pretty simple!
