Windows Update problems

I'm attempting to update Windows 7 after doing a format and clean install, and I'm having some issues. If I run Windows Update, it just gets stuck in a look on checking for update. I downloaded and ran the Windows Update Diagnostic, and got these results.

I've also run sfc /scannow, and it came back clean.

I did, it was telling me that Windows Update was not running.

I got it to work though, via a fix from reddit. For anyone who has the issue, this is what I did to solve it.

Open the start menu, and open run. Type "gpedit.msc" and open the program. Navigate to /Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Update.

There will be a list of settings, find and double click on "Configure Automatic Updates" and make sure this is set to "enabled"

For whatever reason, my setting was not configured, and I guess this was making it so Windows Update couldn't run, it would just pull up an error screen. The second I configured the settings, I could update again.
