Windows update still works!!!

install xp SP3 and IE8, then open internet explorer and paste this link...

microsoft just broke the old redirectors, that's all.

did you hit 'allow' to install the ActiveX script?
yes, the pages are very similar, and if you already installed mircosoft update components then both links take you to that.

no with firefox and ie 8 is not anymore on win support you need ie 9 http://www.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/thanks.aspx?ln=fr&&thankspage=5 and this one from ie 11 http://www.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/thanks.aspx?ln=fr&&thankspage=5

vista and up have the update mechanism built in... so its only neccesary for xp users to use this to download the the pre-april 8th 2014 updates.

no. no ie9+ on xp ie8 is latest for it. and since it uses ActiveX you cant use another browser

i apoligize that this only works on ie8 and also for the fact that im not microsoft and therefore cant change this.
